Overwatch Announces Lunar New Year Skins Mercy and Tracer’s Skins: It’s often thrilling when seasonal events are announced to Overwatch because they offer a range of themed new cosmetics for the game’s various characters. 

Through the decades, Activision Blizzard has had various in-game events like Winter Wonderland and Halloween Terror.

 In recent times, players learned a little about the most recent edition of the Lunar New Year seasonal event set to add to the game.

In two tweets on January 24th, Activision Blizzard revealed that fans of Tracer and Mercy were getting themed outfits in celebration of The Year of the Tiger, the new Lunar New Year limited-time event for Overwatch

According to the tweet, the new skins will be available to purchase once the festivities begin on January 25th. They will be accessible for purchase until the event closes at the end of February.

The first skin The Nezha Skin called Tracer. A legendary cosmetic teleports heroine wears a light green dress, and her hair pull back in two buns. 

The skin adorn with a fire-themed design with bright orange flames that appear across the arms and close to the ankles of the dress. In addition, to complete the look with a festive flair, the model even wears flaming shoes.

Another skin that revealed via Twitter is The Seolbim Mercy skin. Although Mercy comes with a plethora of Legendary skins already within Overwatch, This skin makes an impressive impression.

 It has a predominantly white and blue palette, with a few hints of pink. Her signature wings also receive an overhaul as they now feature a stunning pink and blue colour scheme. 

Also, the appearance of something like a bird-shaped carving placed on at the very top of every wing. The design further enhanced by a brand new pink and white look for her staff.

After revealing the upcoming skins via social media, many users of the Overwatch group have taken a look at the new styles for the characters. 

One of those who offered their opinions were one Overwatch Insider referred to as Naira. They posted some details on the design’s inspiration.

 According to the user on Twitter, this Mercy Legendary skin was based on Hanbok, the type made of Korean clothing. “Hanbok has beauty and elegance,” they said. 

Furthermore, Naira noted that the new Tracer skin is in the spirit of Nezha. Famous for its place in Chinese culture. “Nezha is a god of protection within the Chinese popular religions,” they pointed out.

The new skins will be appealing to many of the gamers from Tracer and Mercy. 

It will fascinating to see what other cosmetics are announced for the Year of the Tiger when released on Overwatch on January 25th.

Overwatch is now available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
