There was only a different process for the Games, despite the fact that we had pursued the matter nonstop and made sure that everyone received the correct information.
Earlier this year, Tracey was on a lengthy list of potential athletes for England as she awaited World Athletics’ approval of her transition to Jamaica.
On June 27, she officially switched sports nationality and was chosen for the Jamaican squad for both the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games.
In some of the most eagerly awaited events of the Games’ athletics schedule, she was scheduled to compete against longtime domestic rivals Keely Hodgkinson of England, Laura Muir, and Jemma Reekie of Scotland.
Instead, Tracey will participate in a Diamond League competition in Silesia, Poland, on August 6, the evening before the women’s 800m final in Birmingham.
