Donny van der Beek and Dele Alli joined Everton’s quest to beat Premier League relegation.
This was after Frank Lampard was announced as the club’s new manager.
After a frustrating few years with four managers in north London, Alli has signed a permanent contract from Tottenham.
After six years, Lampard, Everton’s seventh manager, was appointed to a two-and-a-half-year contract. Since being fired by the London club in January, Chelsea’s leading goal scorer has been absent for one year.
He is responsible for keeping the Toffees in the top flight. They are now four points above the relegation zone after a run that saw them win one in fourteen league games.
Lampard reportedly demanded that Alli be targeted to get the job.
Since his debut as Europe’s most promising attacking middle fielder under Mauricio pochettino, the England international’s career has fallen over four years.
Since November, Antonio Conte assumed charge at Tottenham, and Alli had only started two Premier League matches.
The 25-year old will be subject to a two-and-a-half-year complex deal.
After 20 appearances and any add-ons that may increase the price up to PS40 million, the cost of the 25-year-old will depend on many variables.
Alli stated, “I am eager to get started” and could not wait to wear an Everton shirt for the first time.
“I look forward to helping the team, and the chance to work with the new boss.”
Van de Beek also had to endure a problematic 18-month stint at Old Trafford after a PS40million move from Ajax.
The 24-year old has struggled to get game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, former United boss, and interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
“I had a very positive meeting with my new coach. Van de Beek stated that they share the same views about football and that he had a lot to do with my decision.
“I played against him at Ajax, and he was at Chelsea, so he is familiar with me as a player. He believes I have the qualities to help the team.He was a good player and a great midfielder. I can learn a lot from him. He is an excellent help to me, so I feel I’m in a good place.”
Van de Beek and Alli are both cup-tied to Lampard’s bow at Goodison Park against Brentford in FA Cup Round 4.
They will make their debuts against Newcastle in a vital clash at the bottom table of Premier League on February 8.
