Chelsea transfer news: Chelsea Sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang From Barcelona

Chelsea has signed midfielder Denis Zakaria on loan from Juventus and striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a £10.3 million transfer from Barcelona.

The 33-year-old Gabon striker Aubameyang scored 13 goals in 24 games for Barcelona after switching from Arsenal to the Spanish side in February.

Left-back By mutual accord, Marcos Alonso departed Chelsea and is said to be joining Barcelona.

Zakaria might choose to join Chelsea on a long-term basis.

The 25-year-old Swiss international moved from Borussia Monchengladbach to Juventus only last January.

Aubameyang only featured for eight minutes this year despite having a buyout clause in his contract worth 100 million euros (£83.4 million) when he joined Barcelona. Barcelona, which is more than £1 billion in debt, has been trying to sell players after spending about £200 million on new additions.

With the acquisition of Aubameyang, Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly has spent a record-breaking £255.3 million in a single transfer window, more than any other English team has ever spent.

He played 163 appearances with Arsenal, scoring 92 goals in all competitions; however, he departed on a free transfer following a dispute with manager Mikel Arteta.

Since his transfer to Arsenal on January 31, 2018, Aubameyang has scored 68 Premier League goals, four more than any other player.

Between 2015 and 2017, Aubameyang competed for Borussia Dortmund while playing under Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

In 95 games over that span, he scored 79 goals, 38 more than under any other manager.
