England's Millie Bright Beth Mead and Lucy Bronze were nominated for Ballon d'Or

Seven-time champion Lionel Messi is left off the list of 15 Premier League players, including 12 from Liverpool and 12 from Manchester City.

Messi won the award in 2021.

Mead received the Golden Boot award, granted to the contest’s highest scorer, and was subsequently crowned Euro 2022’s best player.

The organizers will reveal the winners on October 17.

In the first significant victory for a senior England team since the men won the 1966 World Cup, the Lionesses beat Germany 2-1 in the final of Euro 2022 at Wembley.

For the 2019 Ballon d’Or, Bronze, 30, finished second behind Megan Rapinoe, a legend in the United States.

The 2021 Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas of Barcelona and Spain and Sam Kerr of Chelsea, who scored 20 goals in the Women’s Super League in 2021–2022, are also eligible for nominations.

Vivianne Miedema, a Netherlands forward for Arsenal, has also been recognized.
