Premier League Fixtures Released; Manchester City To Start Title Defense At West Ham

Manchester City will begin their Premier League championship defence against West Ham United, while Liverpool will visit Fulham on the season’s first weekend.

The 2022/23 dates were released on Thursday, and the first match for incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will be at Old Trafford against Brighton, who thrashed United 4-0 last month.

Nottingham Forest will play in Newcastle for the first time in 23 years in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola’s City will begin their quest for a fifth championship in six seasons at the London Stadium on Sunday, August 7, after all of their competitors have started their seasons.

Frank Lampard, whose Everton team almost avoided relegation, will face his old club Chelsea the night before.

Arsenal will begin the new season with a short journey to Crystal Palace on Friday, August 5, for the second season in a row.

After a midweek Champions League tie, Liverpool and City continue their rivalry at Anfield in mid-October, with the return match set for the beginning of April.

Jurgen Klopp, the Reds’ manager, is unlikely to be happy with their match schedule, given their European obligations.

Following their Champions League group games, they have three away games against Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham.

On the penultimate weekend before the mid-season break for the World Cup in Qatar, November 12/13, the regular “Big Six” were kept apart.

Following the season’s restart on December 26, Leeds will host City, while United will host Forest.

On the last day of the season, City travels to Brentford, while Liverpool travels to Southampton.
