Real Madrid want Sergio Ramos to return as soon as possible: Zinedine Zidane

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane said he does not blame Spain for captain Sergio Ramos’ last injury before the season’s shooting.

Central defender Ramos injured his calf while warming up for Spain after their 3-1 victory over Kosovo on Wednesday. He entered as a substitute in the 86th minute in the World Cup qualifier.

The 35-year-old appears to be absent from both games in the upcoming Champions League quarter-final match with Liverpool, as well as next Saturday’s El Clásico against Barcelona.

Local media reported that Ramos will be missing next month as Real Madrid look to defend their La Liga crown and regain six points over league leaders Atlético de Madrid.

Zidane, however, was optimistic when asked about the coup.

“We always want Sergio to be fit and available, but now we just have to focus on the players we have,” Zidane said at a press conference ahead of Saturday’s visit to 18th-ranked Eibar.

“These things happen in football, the part of the game that we don’t like. But things happen and you just have to accept them. We want you to recover and return as soon as possible. We know what a player and what a captain he is.

“Obviously I would like to have all my players fit, but that is not the case. We have 10 games left in La Liga and we have to concentrate ”.

There was better news for Zidane with the vision of Toni Kroos and Eden Hazard returning to training, however, the Frenchman insisted that they will not return to action after muscle problems.

“There are many games that are developing rapidly and we will not do anything stupid. We will see how to manage it.

“We don’t have a plan with Hazard, but we won’t push him.

“We want to go little by little. If it’s three days, then great, but if it’s 10 days, so be it. We are happy that he is recovering. “
